Nice to meet you!
Hi! I’m Olivia. My pronouns are she/her. I’m an artist living in Duluth, MN. I’m currently a senior Musical Theatre BFA and Art Minor at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and will be graduating Fall 2024!
Most recently, I have been getting into creating new works. You may have seen me in Danceworks 2023 in my improv/sung a capella solo Getting Me There, inspired by scat singing and jazz.
My partner, Irie Unity and I also just debuted our new play, One Who is Home, as a part of UMD’s Lab Series. Projects like these make me excited to be a performer and a maker!
As an actor, I’m a two-time finalist for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship, nominated for my work in Main Street, directed by Tom Isbell, and The Spitfire Grill, directed by Rebecca Katz-Harwood.
As well as performing, I have a passion for visual art. In my home studio, with it’s bright-yellow painted walls, I love to spend hours throwing all kinds of media at a canvas. I make hyper-colorful, abstracted, illustrative work, heavily inspired by nature, and I’m always looking for new supplies and ideas to play around with!
A common thread in my artistic practice is a love of learning. My favorite places are my sketchbooks, notebooks, rehearsal rooms and studios, because I love asking questions. It’s about the process, and sometimes the messiest sketches are the most interesting.
Ultimately, the dream is to keep making art with awesome people! I believe that art can be a force for good, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
